"Reboot" - Upcoming latest Hacker Movie you should watch

Rosa Entertainment and Jan-Ken-Po Pictures just announced that their cyberpunk thriller short film “Reboot” will launch with a Sneak Preview at DEFCON.

Written and Directed by Joe Kawasaki, and Produced by Sidney Sherman, the film stars a bevy of hot up-and-coming actors including Emily Somers (Gabriele Muccino’s upcoming “Playing the Field”), Travis Aaron Wade (“War of the Worlds”), Martin Copping (Australian series “Neighbours”), Sonalii Castillo (“NCIS”), and Janna Bossier (Slipnot’s “Vermilion").

Set within a dystopian world that is a collision between technology and humanity, “Reboot” touches upon many of the current social and political concerns that arise from becoming more and more intertwined with the virtual. In contemporary Los Angeles, a young female hacker (Stat) awakens from unconsciousness to find an iPhone glued to her hand and a mysterious countdown ticking away on the display. Suffering from head trauma and with little recollection of who she is or what is happening, Stat races against time to figure out what the code means and what unknown event the pending zero-hour will bring.

The recent launch of their ARG (Alternate Reality Game) has caught the attention of hackers and cyberpunk fans via Twitter. Basically, some Easter Eggs are hidden in the film trailer for viewers to find. When a player thinks they have found anything, they simply send a direct message to @reboot_film on Twitter for confirmation. As players find things they are awarded points and the Top Ten players will be awarded some cool prizes. For more ARG details, please go to: www.rebootfilm.com/scoreboard. To view the trailer: www.rebootfilm.com/trailer.

The film is the product of a successful Kickstarter campaign and has been building momentum ever since it was first announced on kickstarter.com in August of last year. Kawasaki said, "It (the film) was originally designed to simply be a great little ride, but as real world events keep developing around us (regarding issues of cyber-freedom, online privacy, security, etc.); the connotation of the film evolves and changes with it."

"Reboot" is a co-production of Sherman's production shingle, Rosa Entertainment, and Kawasaki’s Jan-Ken-Po Pictures; and the filmmakers are aiming for international film festivals like Cannes, Locarno and Toronto, as well as distribution via the internet.

Facebook down for two hours across Europe, May be DDOS attack !

In a DDoS attack, hackers deliberately render servers inaccessible by overloading them with traffic. Such a barrage aimed at DNS servers can make it impossible to connect users to a website when they type the address. Where as facebook said that its service was unavailable in some European countries this morning because of technical problems.

Third parties suggested a problem with Facebook's European DNS servers may have been at the root. These machines connect the address "Facebook.com" with the actual content of the website, and during the outage attempts to contact to them as normal received no response.

DownRightNow, which monitors major web services, showed Facebook having suffered ongoing intermittent service until mid-afternoon.CERT.Be, a Belgian government agency, claimed that the outage was due to a DDoS hacker attack, but this has not been confirmed.

Later Facebook announce, 'The issue has been resolved and everyone should now have access to Facebook. We apologise for any inconvenience.'

The blackout also affected users in France, Germany, Russia and South Africa, among others.Facebook, which has about 845 million active users worldwide, last month announced plans to raise $5bn in an stock market flotation expected tovalue the company at between $75bn and $100bn.

How to save yourself by Google’s new privacy policy

Google has officially implemented its new, combined privacy policy. On the company’s Privacy Policy page, Google describes everything from how it collects information across its many sites to what it does with all that information.

After announcing plans in January to implement a combined privacy policy that covers all of its many services, the search company said that it would make for a “beautifully simple, intuitive user experience.”

“The main change is for users with Google Accounts. Our new Privacy Policy makes clear that, if you’re signed in, we may combine information you’ve provided from one service with information from other services,” Alma Whitten, director of privacy, product and engineering, wrote in a blog post at the time. “In short, we’ll treat you as a single user across all our products, which will mean a simpler, more intuitive Google experience.”

But not everyone is too pleased the search giant went forward with the change. In a letter dated February 27 and obtained today by CNET, France’s data protection authority, the Commission Nationale de l’Informatique et des Libertes (CNIL), wrote to Google CEO Larry Page saying that the privacy policy might not be lawful under European Union rules.

“The CNIL and the EU data protection authorities are deeply concerned about the combination of personal data across services,” the letter reads. “They have strong doubts about the lawfulness and fairness of such processing, and about its compliance with European Data Protection legislation.”

So how to safe yourself by trace of Google,Here i am going to tell you some tricks by which you save your Surfing History Information,So read below.....

3.In all browser for example Chrome, Mozila ,IE etc. have PRIVATE BROWSING option so use it. You used to Private Browsing  in daily work.

4.For Know what Google Knowing about you yet so use "DATA LIBERATION TOOL". By this you also will be able to Remove, Import and Transfer the information. For this going to www.dataliberation.org where you found Google Service list, you also found  how can remove information.

5.One more trick but it works on small level by which you delete the Searching History by Google DATABASE....

Go to Google.com >> Login >> In address bar type www.google.com/history

Your favourite blog with New Domain name

Today,i am very happy because i am going share some important information with you.Your favourite and beloved blog www.hackarde.blogspot.com change into www.hackarde.com successfully.

Ya i know,i know 1 year was a long distance but i want given some good gift on this new year to you in foam of new domain name of your beloved Blog.I thought that you are also happy like me.

But you want know why i am change my Subdomain into a .COM domain,i am going tell you what is the profit of the Domain name.

Domain names are the real estate of the Internet. Just as a good location is vital for a bricks and mortar business, a good domain name will be the corner stone of your website’s success.

1. They Are Short

A good domain name make your website name shorter and smarter in look compare to a big subdomain name. For example  www.hackarde.blogspot.com  look very long and very difficult in remember it where www.hackarde.com look short smarter and very easy in mind. Many Internet users do not use bookmarks. They just memorize the domains of their favorite websites and type them whenever they wan to visit one. Guess what, if your domain is complex and not easy to remember you will lose these visitors along the way.

2. They Are Easy To Spell

The last thing you want is visitors misspelling your domain and ending up somewhere else.
Avoid unusual foreign words, words that have complex pronunciation, strange combinations of letters and anything else that might cause someone to misspell your address.

3. They Have a .COM Extension

Organizations might prefer to register a .org domain, and companies targeting very specific geographical regions might want to register a local domain (e.g. .it, .co.uk, .cn and so on). Apart from these cases, however, a .com domain is always the best way to go. This extension is the most popular around the around, and it is already stuck in people’s mind.
Visitors coming to your site via search engines or organic links will pay attention mostly to the name and not to the URL. The next time they want to visit your site it is very likely that they will just type its name followed by a .com. Guess what, if you are not there when they hit enter they will just go somewhere else.

4. They Are Descriptive

Many visitors will come to your site through the search engines and via direct links on other websites. That is, they will come if the domain that they will see will be appealing.
Having a descriptive domain name will give visitors an idea of what your site is about even before they enter it. If related keywords are present in the domain it might also help your search engine rankings.

5. Brandable

A brandable domain will have a nice pronunciation, an interesting combination of letters or simply an appealing visual effect. Sometimes they will not be descriptive, but they can be equally efficient.
Brandable domains will make your visitors associate the name with your website and its content. (Notice that brandable domains can be descriptive at the same time, but that is not always the case.)

FINAL REMARK

Do not get discouraged if your current domain doesn’t have all these characteristics; or if you can’t find one that does. These are just factors that you should consider when evaluating domain names.
There are plenty of examples of popular websites with domain names that lack in one or two points covered on the list. Just make sure that your domain has most of the characteristics and you should be fine.

And in last of this post i want given thanks to my friend PANKAJ JAISWAL who given me a good suggestion and also help me many times.

New Facebook Worm installing Zeus Bot in your Computer

Today another new attack on Facebook users with Zeus Bot comes in action. The researchers of Danish security firm CSIS, has spotted a worm spreading within the Facebook platform. A new worm has popped up on Facebook, using apparently stolen user credentials to log in to victims' accounts and then send out malicious links to their friends. The worm also downloads and installs a variety of malware on users' machines, including a variant of the Zeus bot.

If followed, the link takes the potential victim to a page where he or she are offered what appears to be a screensaver for download. Unfortunately, it is not a JPG file, but an executable (b.exe). Once run, it drops a cocktail of malicious files onto the system, including ZeuS, a popular Trojan spyware capable of stealing user information from infected systems. The worm is also found to have anti-VM capabilities, making it useless to execute and test in a virtual environment, such as Oracle VM VirtualBox and VMWare.

Zeus is a common tool in the arsenal of many attackers these days, and is used in a wide variety of attacks and campaigns now. It used to be somewhat less common, but the appearance of cracked versions of the Zeus code has made it somewhat easier for lower-level attackers to get their hands on the malware. Zeus has a range of capabilities, and specializes in stealing sensitive user data such as banking credendtials, from infected machines.

"The worm carries a cocktail of malware onto your machine, including a Zbot/ZeuS variant which is a serious threat and stealing sensitive information from the infected machine," warn the researchers. The worm is hosted on a variety of domains, so the link in the malicious message may vary. Other servers are used to collect the data sent by the aforementioned malware and to serve additional malicious software.

This type of thing is very rare to just send to your email without you requesting it so I would advise anyone who thinks that you may have seen an email like this to delete it and mark it as spam right away.

National program for Cyber army to be launched in India

Increasing attacks on cyberspace in India has brought several professionals and experts from the Industry, in support with the Government of India to jointly form a national level program to identify credible and valuable information security experts. The program "National Security Database" is all set to launch this Saturday in Mumbai at a major Information security conference, MalCon. The database will include ethical hackers and programmers who can protect country’s cyberspace. They will all be registered with the National Security Database, a brainchild of Information Sharing and Analysis Centre (ISAC), a non profit foundation which works closely with the Government on the issue of cyber security.

The need of such database originated after 2008 attacks in Mumbai when the cyber security professionals realised that a lot needed to be done in the area. "It is observed that some or other form of electronic notification is usually sent before a major terrorist attack, followed by defacement of government web sites. Professional cyber security professionals can make a lot of difference in investigations and help in the entire episode," said Rajshekhar Murthy, director of ISAC. Issue of forming a credible repository of such cyber security professionals who can be trusted with sensitive information can be of use in case of an emergency, and was also raised in a conference held last year.

"After a lot of brainstorming and analysis the database is in place and will be flagged off on November 26 in Mumbai," said Murthy. As per estimates there are over a lakh cyber security experts and hackers in India who as of now function individually. Each one of them has a certain area of specialisation. "They will be brought in to the NSD after a rigourous test which would test their skills. Also they would be made to undergo psychometric tests over and above the tasks that they would have to perform to test their personal skills. Once they clear all levels they would be empaneled in NSD program in applied areas of specialisation," added Murthy. Fraud investigation, web security, mobile security are some of the areas of specialisation in NSD.

The Database, which was secretly being worked on from last two years on invitation only basis has already a sizeable number of experts who have developed malwares and softwares to hack into devices like iPhone and XBox Kinect, which are slated for release at the malware conference MalCon. The database will come in handy each time country is under threat on cyberspace front. "The next generation of attacks will not be only on ground but also on country’s cyberspace," said Murthy citing the example of recent attack on some government computers after which the hackers released sensitive information pertaining to the miltary and communication between India and Moscow.

Companies like QuickHeal and Security Compass among others have already given support to the database and will be hiring security professionals with a direct final interview. "Since NSD professionals will have to go through a tough eight hour lab exam, major companies have written in expressing their interest in hiring NSD empaneled professionals. While NSD does not award certification, we are glad about the support from the Industry" stated Murthy.

The biggest challenge for NSD now is to reach both hackers and professionals and identify them with skills in existing areas of specialization.. "We have already identified several accross the country. Their motivations is that once they are registered with NSD they not only get to upgrade their skills and knowledge but will also be of service to the country. We are collaborating with government agencies looking after cyber security, all of whom are looking forward to the NSD," said Murthy.

The program will be flagged off in the International Malware Conference, MALCON, scheduled to be held at JW Marriott on November 26. Sachin Pilot, Minister of State for Communication and Information Technology is also going to join the conference via video conference from Delhi. His office confirmed that Pilot would share his views on cyber security and extend their endorsement to the National Security Database. Officials from National Technical Research Organisation, a government body which looks at cyber security, too have shown keen interest in the NSD. "It is great initiative which will be of use to the nation and will provide a databse of cyber security professionals," said an NTRO official refusing to be named.

iPhone used as a keylogger

I think you shocked like me.Ya i am also shocked when i am know about it.A team of researcher said that he discovered a way to log keystrokes from computer simply by placing an iPhone 4 near a user's keyboard and monitoring the keyboard's vibrations. So it is not wrong to say iPhone is a 'Spiphone' .

The team at Georgia Tech used the accelerometer in an iPhone 4 to sense keyboard vibrations and determine what was being typed, without any connectivity to the user's computer or peripherals.Decoding Vibrations From Nearby Keyboards Using Mobile Phone Accelerometers", the researchers could decipher complete sentences with up to 80 per cent accuracy.

"The way we see this attack working is that you, the phone's owner, would request or be asked to download an innocuous-looking application, which doesn't ask you for the use of any suspicious phone sensors," said Henry Carter, a PhD student in computer science, and one of the study's co-authors. "Then the keyboard-detection malware is turned on, and the next time you place your phone next to the keyboard and start typing, it starts listening."

But i am not say clearly because since March 2011,Mohamed Hassan, founder of NetSec Consulting, said he discovered StarLogger software on Samsung laptops with model numbers R525 and 540 after running security scanning software on the systems. But Samsung says Keylogging claims false.

SecTor 2011 – Exclusive Coverage of Final Day from Ground Zero

I was excited on Day Two of SecTor to finally meet Mikko Hypponen, the chief antivirus researcher working for F-Secure Antivirus. Mikko has been working for decades in the security field and has great expertise in the area of antivirus, malware and cybercrime attacks. One highlight of his talk was a demo of the attack on RSA, which used a zero-day vulnerability in Adobe Flash to penetrate the company’s internal network. F-Secure researchers showed great persistence in spending half a year tracking down the particular file used in the attack.

.

The “sophisticated cyber attack”, as Mikko ironically noted, was a simple social engineering email requesting the user to open a file attachment. The attachment appeared as a legitimate Excel file, but it had a booby-trapped Flash file within it that exploited the 0day vulnerability. The main target of the attack was believed to be Northrop Grumman, which deployed SecurID tokens in their company. Once RSA was compromised, SecurID was as well.

The talk on NFC (near field communication) quickly made it clear this was a unique feature, not an extension of RFID or similar. NFC is highlighted especially in android devices and is getting hype with Google’s virtual wallet that will rely on the NFC protocol, obviously drawing much interest towards the technology’s security guarantees. NFC tags will be capable of basic crypto calculations but there is no requirement that information sent through the air is encrypted. The only guarantee is that 4cm is the max distance to create a communication link with another device or NFC tag. Theoretically once a link is created, 4cm is no longer the cut-off distance, making sniffing easier.

.

To setup NFC in a homebrew environment the libnfc library is needed as well as a few devices: touchatag reader, mifare DESFire EV1 (or similar), and an oscilloscope at 13.56 MHz. More information can be found at Mulliner.org and in the article, “Practical Attacks on NFC Enabled Cell Phones”. Physical attacks on NFC tags are a large problem. Simply cover up a legitimate tag with a small signal blocking foil and place your own on top to skim data. The talk also pointed out a malformed tag null pointer exception that is as yet unexploitable, and an interesting use of droid’s intent filters. Any droid app can register itself as capable of handling an intent, like opening a map. If a NFC tag sends data under the map intent, the user will have to chose the app to handle the data. With custom app icons, a malicious app is indistinguishable from a legitimate one. The talk ended with an appropriate and catchy acronym, NFC: aNother Freaking attaCk vector.
.

All in all, there were some extremely interesting talks, and I wish I could have attended even more of them. SecTor has been an outstanding conference, and I was privileged to be able to attend the event.

.

SecurityXploded was official media partner of SecTor 2011 and it was our great pleasure to bring forth detailed coverage of the event !

FBI Tell-How to Protect Your Computer

Below are some key steps to protecting your computer from intrusion:

- Keep Your Firewall Turned On: A firewall helps protect your computer from hackers who might try to gain access to crash it, delete information, or even steal passwords or other sensitive information. Software firewalls are widely recommended for single computers. The software is prepackaged on some operating systems or can be purchased for individual computers. For multiple networked computers, hardware routers typically provide firewall protection.

- Install or Update Your Antivirus Software: Antivirus software is designed to prevent malicious software programs from embedding on your computer. If it detects malicious code, like a virus or a worm, it works to disarm or remove it. Viruses can infect computers without users' knowledge. Most types of antivirus software can be set up to update automatically.

- Install or Update Your Antispyware Technology: Spyware is just what it sounds like—software that is surreptitiously installed on your computer to let others peer into your activities on the computer. Some spyware collects information about you without your consent or produces unwanted pop-up ads on your web browser. Some operating systems offer free spyware protection, and inexpensive software is readily available for download on the Internet or at your local computer store. Be wary of ads on the Internet offering downloadable antispyware—in some cases these products may be fake and may actually contain spyware or other malicious code. It's like buying groceries—shop where you trust.

- Keep Your Operating System Up to Date: Computer operating systems are periodically updated to stay in tune with technology requirements and to fix security holes. Be sure to install the updates to ensure your computer has the latest protection.

- Be Careful What You Download: Carelessly downloading e-mail attachments can circumvent even the most vigilant anti-virus software. Never open an e-mail attachment from someone you don't know, and be wary of forwarded attachments from people you do know. They may have unwittingly advanced malicious code.

- Turn Off Your Computer: With the growth of high-speed Internet connections, many opt to leave their computers on and ready for action. The downside is that being "always on" renders computers more susceptible. Beyond firewall protection, which is designed to fend off unwanted attacks, turning the computer off effectively severs an attacker's connection—be it spyware or a botnet that employs your computer's resources to reach out to other unwitting users.
